MDS - Sweet, Heather’s Class

Once again, it is TUESDAY!!  You know what that means!!  DOWNLOAD DAY!!  Yippee Yahoo!
In the Bonus Day 7 class, Heather showed us how to use the Torn edge stamp as I have done on this page.  In another video, she showed us how to make any embellishment into a stamp.  Once it is turned into a stamps, you can change the color!  Since I don’t have a Marina Mist button in my stash, I followed her video and now I have a button that I can change to any color!  Awesome!
Paper: Marina Mist, Beau Chateau 11 (I put this paper in a punch and clicked on the minus zoom button until I got it to the size I wanted – another of Heather’s tips).

Stamps: Vintage Overlay 4 - Soft Suede opacity 70, Torn Edges - Marina Mist, Hawaii Papaya (dots in the bottom left corner that hardly show up – Soft Suede), Vintage Vogue (flowers – Riding Hood Red), Seriously Sassy – Riding Hood Red.

Punches: Flag (Soft Suede), Square.

Embellishments: Bakers Twine, Twitterpated Ribbon (Riding Hood Red), Grosgrain Ribbon (Riding Hood Red), Stitching, Buttons – very vanilla.

Heather has given her students permission to post our pages that we made in her 1st class to our Blogs.  If you want in on Heather’s tricks & tips, you still have time to sign up to her MDS MadeSimple 2 class.  Because the daily posts don't happen anymore, the site remains open with the content, videos, photos, and discussions etc available until the end of October.

MDS - On the Road Again, Heather’s Class

Happy Download Tuesday!  Check them out on My DigitalStudio.net! Some students asked Heather where she gets her ideas for her pages and projects.  She said from just about anywhere.  The page for this class was inspired by her friend Andrea Bowden.  Heather's page inspired me to do this page of my daughters stay at the Pacific Terrace.  Such a great layout, Heather, thankyou!
You still have time to sign up to Heather’s MDS Made Simple 2 class HERE otherwise you are really missing out!  Watch for another page I did from Heather’s 1st class next Tuesday and my regular scrap page on Friday.
Paper - Travel Journal.

MDS - Happy Birthday Olivia, Heather’s Class

Happy Tuesday to you!  Do you know what that means?  Digital Download day!  Whooo hooo!  Head on over to My Digital Studio.net to see what's new today!
Another great layout and copy from Heather’s Bonus class of 10 days.  I wanted to use the Check It Out Photo box punches (because the corners are rounded) for all my pictures as Heather did in her class page.  Unfortunately, within a punch you can't rotate an image.  I went into my photo program, rotated the image then inserted it into the punch but they still went in sideways so I had to use photo boxes for some of the pictures.  Another problem I have (on any page, not just this one), is my items do not Send Backwards with either Ctrl/Shift/down arrow or by clicking on the Send Backwards button.  I wanted the Text to be sent behind my pink piece, instead, I had to bring the photo to the front!  Regardless of my troubles, it is another page done in my daughters’ 2011 album & she’ll never know I had these troubles! Anyways, do sign up to Heather’s MDS Made Simple 2 class HERE otherwise you are really missing out!  Watch for another of Heather’s class pages I did next Tuesday & my regular scrap page on Friday.
Paper: Pink Passion, Turquoise, Sunny Day.

Punches: Photo Boxes – Check This Out (last one), Square.

Stamps: Number One Overlay 1 – pink passion with opacity 40; Vintage Overlay – 3rd from the bottom, white, flipped & rotated, opacity to 80; Bring on the Cake; Piece of Cake.

Embellishments: Sunny Day (shortened my ribbons by right clicking on the ribbon once it was on my page. Edit Object - (my Units are in inches) then change the width ONLY (in my case, I changed it to 8). You MUST unclick the Keep Proportions box before X'ing out).

MDS - Eat Our Dust, Heather’s Class

Once again, it is TUESDAY!!  You know what that means!!  DOWNLOAD DAY!!  Yippee Yahoo!
Another great layout from Heather’s Bonus class of 10 days.  This time she showed us how to make a Dresden shape using the pennant punch & the half circle punch.  I still haven’t purchased the half circle punch (don’t even know what my hold up is – I’m sure I can spare $1.25!!) so I used the full circle punch.  I didn’t take as much time to line things up as Heather showed us in her class video but I’m happy with it!  Heather has her page on her Blog HERE or I've pasted it at the bottom of this post.  Thankyou to Jeanette Smith for suggesting Scrapbook.com for page titles!  I use it all the time now!  Sign up to Heather's class HERE.
Paper: Crushed Curry (opacity to 90); Happy Bday.

Punches:  Circle, Pennant, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet.

Stamps: Piece of Cake (flag), Hello Doily – Crush Curry, changed Opacity to 50 & the Blur to full, Vintage Overlay 5 - Crush Curry, changed Opacity to full & the Blur to full.

Embellishments: Downtown Grunge (frames), Vintage Trinkets (safety pin & buttons), Happy Bday borders (shortened my ribbons by right clicking on the ribbon once it was on my page. Edit Object - (my Units are in inches) then change the width ONLY (in my case, I changed it to 4). You MUST unclick the Keep Proportions box before X'ing out).

In this class, Heather showed us how to make our photo opaque without the background showing thro.  My opaque picture is a bit blurry but I wanted us to remember the year we bottle fed 7 kittens after their mother went missing during a horrible wind and rain storm.  We managed to save 4 of them and their mother has never returned!

MDS - Something Special, Heather's Class

Heather Summers from Stamp with Heather, offered a MDS Made Simple Class at the beginning of February – 30 days for $20 – how could you beat that!  I have used MDS for about 2 years now but I knew I would learn something from such a talented lady.  Well, I learnt more little tidbits in those 30 days than I have over the past 2 years of using MDS!  She had a video, project or a page (if not more) every day for us, packed full of goodies, complete with her recipe for the creation!  She shared the font file for any of the Free fonts she used in her projects.  There was even a video on how to install these fonts on to our computers!  So many of us were really sad to see the class coming to an end, that Heather offered us another 10 for FREE!!  How awesome is that!  We all know what a busy lady she is so there wasn’t one of us that didn’t appreciate all she has done.  She is offering a MDS Made Simple 2 starting on April 16!!  For any of you that missed this class, I highly recommend getting in on the next one.   Check her Blog for details.
Heather has given her students permission to post our pages that we did in her class to our Blogs.  This was our Day 1 Class.  She showed us how to change the color of our shadows as I did on my flower.  This is basically a copy of her page layout - something I’m good at!!  Here is my recipe:
