Christmas Greetings - LICI-D-06

Stamps: Alpine Adventure (Holiday 2018), Woodgrain.

Cardstock: White, Sahara Sand, Tranquil Tide, Myth’s and Magic Glimmer Paper, Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper, Joyous Noel Specialty DSP (Holiday 2018).

Ink: Merry Merlot, Sahara Sand (inside).

Tools: dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, glue dots, sequins, Festive Farmhouse Cotton twine, Softly Falling embossing folder, White Thread.

Punches/Dies: Layering Ovals Framelits, Sprig punch, Alpine Sports Thinlits dies.

Used a strip from my Love It Chop It DSP stash.  Adhered it to card front.  Before die cutting the sleigh, I stamped a scrap of Sahara Sand cardstock with the Woodgrain stamp in Sahara Sand ink. Added dimensionals to it.

Added some white thread. The rest is straight forward.

Stamped an image to go with the phrase for the inside of the card.

I’m still working on the Joyous Noel Specialty DSP that I have loved and now chopped.  Kept the leftover strips as not to waste any of it!  This was a Paper Share, so I only had 12 sheets of 6” x 6“paper (two of each design) of this beautiful double-sided DSP to deal with!  So off to Pinterest I go!  Thanks, Kylie Bertucci, for giving us permission to Love It Chop It!

SU237 Birthday Celebrations Owl Card

This SU Owl Builder Punch is just so darn cute! In the Punch Bunch stamp set, there is an owl that can be stamped then punched with the Owl Builder Punch.  The fence top is made using a Border Punch by Martha Stewat and after stamping the Woodgrain using Chocolate Chip ink I just drew lines down each section with the Early Expresso Marker and a ruler and added a bit of distressing with a sponge and ink. The grass at the bottom is made using Garden Green ink and the SU Inspired by Nature stamp set. The sky background is done using Bashful Blue ink and a sponge.

Stamps: Woodgrain, Inspired by Nature, Upsy Daisy.

Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Garden Green, scrap of unknown DSP.

Ink: Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green.

Accessories: Martha Stewart Border Punch, Bird Builder Punch, Owl Builder Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Early Expresso Marker, ¼” circle punch, Crystal effects, Sponge.

SU225 Angry Birds Card

My 4 year old grandson was full of excitement as he showed me this Angry Bird game some time ago.  Kinda thought it was a bit silly but whatever.  I found out just how  serious a game this was after spending the Christmas weekend with our adult kids.  So I did a search for possible cards made using these creatures and found out I’m about a year behind!  Found these nuggets by nox2stamp off Splitcoast  easier to follow as it is mainly done using punches.  I also liked dlsplu’s layout from Splitcoast so I used her idea.  I know nothing about the game, I’m assuming these ladies do.  I have a 30 year old SIL who is nuts about the game so this card is for his birthday in March.

I went through my scraps to make these so I am only guessing at the colors of cardstock that I used.

Angry Bird parts:

Used the 1/8” companion circle Coluzzle or about 1-5/8” to cut his body from Real Red, sponged black.

Angry Bird parts
Chest – SU 1-3/8” circle punch in white, sponged red.  Once I glued this in position and cut off what I didn’t need, I sponged the bottom in black.

Eyes – SU 1/2” circle punch in white, sponged black.  Dots were done using my black Zig marker.

Eyebrows or is that a Frown?? – SU horizontal punch in black.

Beak – star punch by EK Success in More Mustard, sponged Chocolate Chip.

Feathers – SU 5-petal flower punch in Real Red, sponged black.

I added mounts to the back of him so he is raised.

Pig parts:

Body – SU 1-3/8” circle punch in Old Olive, sponged black.

Pig parts
Snout – large eye from the SU owl punch in Green Galore, sponged Garden Green.  Put a mount behind so it is raised.

Eyes – small eye from the SU owl punch in white, sponged Garden Green.

Eyelids – small eye from the SU owl punch cut in half in Old Olive, sponged black.

Ears - SU 1/2” circle punch in Old Olive, sponged black.

Used my black Zig marker for the markings.

Cage parts (if that’s what it is):

Cut gray cardstock 2” x 2-1/4”, cut inside away to leave a 3/8” frame, sponged black.  Used the Creative Memories corner rounder in the top, left corner.

Grass:

Sizziz die in Garden Green, sponged black.  I had to cut 2 of them to fit across the card.

Sling Shot:

Creamy Caramel stamped with SU! Woodgrain stamp set in Chocolate Chip.  SU Word Window punch, sponged with Chocolate Chip.  1/16” hole punch, brad, 8” hemp.  Once I tied my knots, I cut off what I didn’t need.  A neat trick I learned in my sewing days – to put yarn or thread or, in this case hemp through a small hole, add a dab of glue to one end.  Work it in with your fingers to make a narrow point.  Once it dries, it is easy to thread through.

Background:

SU Canvas stamp set in Real Red.  Mount to a black card.

Phrase:

SU Smarty Pants stamp set in Garden Green.  SU Decorative Label punch, sponged black.
