Butterfly Gala – LICI-B-14

Stamps: Touches of Texture, Butterfly Gala (inside).

Cardstock: Pool Party, Peek a Boo Peach, Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB 2012).

Ink: Pool Party, Grapefruit Groove (inside and envelope) Soft Suede.

Tools: Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, sponge, dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, regular and mini glue dots, pearls, Peek a Boo Peach ribbon, Petals a Plenty embossing folder, Elegant Dots embossing folder.

Punches/Dies: Butterfly Duet punch, Scallop Border punch.

Cut DSP 2-5/8” x 4”.  Sponge Soft Suede.  Set aside.

Cut Peek a Boo Peach 3-1/4” x 4” wide.  Punch one 4” width with the Scallop Border punch.  Sponge Soft Suede.  Run through the Elegant Dots EF with the sponging facing the Sizzix logo. 

Lightly pencil mark at 2-1/4” from top of DSP.  Tape the Peach panel to the DSP at the pencil marks.  Trim to 5-1/4” x 4” and re-sponge.

From the wrong side of the DSP, pencil mark at 1-1/4” from the top.  Cut Peek a Boo Peach ribbon at 5-1/2” and tape at the pencil marks.  Adhere to a Very Vanilla card.  Set aside.

Cut Pool Party cs at 1-3/4” x 2-1/2”.  Over stamp with the splat from the Touches of Texture stamp set in Pool Party ink.  Sponge Soft Suede.  Mount onto a Very Vanilla panel cut at 2-3/4” x 2”.  Trim close.  Add dimensionals and adhere to the card front.

Punch butterflies from Peek a Boo Peach cs using the Butterfly Duet punch.  Sponge.  Run through the Petals a Plenty EF with the sponging facing the Sizzix logo.  Bend wings on both sides of the body.  Adhere to the Pool Party panel on the card front.

Add pearls to the butterflies.  Cut Peek a Boo Peach ribbon at 5” and tie a knot around ribbon on the card.

Stamp phrase from the Butterfly Gala stamp set in Grapefruit Groove to the inside.  Ink the splat from the Touches of Texture stamp set in Pool Party ink, stamp off then over stamp the phrase. Add Pool Party butterflies. Decorate an envelope.

I’m still working on the Everyday Enchantment DSP that I have loved and now chopped.  I chopped it in 5-1/4” strips then cut the strips into 4” pieces.  Kept the leftover strips too.  I have them stored in a Full Wide Stamp case. Kylie Bertucci has given us permission to Love It Chop It!

This is card 12 of 24 cards I made by loving and chopping the entire package of my Everyday Enchantment DSP!  I made 4 of each card so a total of 96 cards!  It is such a good way of using the DSP that has sat on my shelf for years!  Do watch Kylie Bertucci’s video on how to do this!

Stamps: Touches of Texture, Hello Cupcake (SAB 2019), Butterfly Gala.

Cardstock: Black, Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB 2012).

Ink: Basic Gray, Black Tuxedo, Calypso Coral (inside), Granny Apple Green (inside and envelope).

Tools: Wink of Stella, Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, sponge, dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, regular and mini glue dots, rhinestones, pearls, Black Seam Binding ribbon, Lucky Limeade ribbon, Wink of Stella, Subtle embossing folder.

Punches/Dies: Butterfly Duet punch, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Oval Dies, Hollow Lace Border dies.

Use a strip of DSP from your Love It Chop It pile this time.  I put Black Seam Binding ribbon on one side of the DSP and a scallop die on the other side.

Cut Very Vanilla at 5-1/4”x 4.  Ink the speckle image from the Touches of Texture stamp set in Basic Gray, stamp off then stamp in the top right corner. Run through the Subtle EF. Paint the butterflies with Wink of Stella and punch with the Butterfly Duet punch.  Bend the wings on either side of the body.  Add a dimensional to the large butterfly. 

Add Lucky Limeade organdy ribbon at the join between the DSP and the Calypso Coral die.  Add a bow.

Die cut the phrase with Stitched Shape oval; die cut a Calypso Coral scrap using the scalloped Layering Oval die and a black oval. Adhere the three ovals together.  Add dimensionals.

Stamp a phrase from the Hello Cupcake stamp set in Calypso Coral ink and some images from the Butterfly Gala stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink to the inside of the card.  Decorate the envelope.

Versamark Resist Technique – One Hour Card Class - OHCC049

Versamark is a clear ink that is usually used to emboss images or create a watermark background. 

Cut Glossy card stock to the size you want.

Ink your stamp with the Versamark ink and stamp on glossy card stock.

Run your brayer in Perfect Plum ink or any color, and brayer over the Versamark image.  You can sponge ink over top instead of using a brayer if you want. The stamped images will resist the ink. Keeping the card simple lets the technique stand out!

The more you brayer or sponge, the darker it goes and the more the images pop.  Also remember that the darker the color you use the less likely the Versamark is going to resist.

I hope you will try this technique!  This technique is sometimes called Ghosting.

Cardstock: Perfect Plum, black, glossy white.

Ink: Versamark, Perfect Plum, black memories.

Accessories: bone folder, Misti, sponge, Press n Seal, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Hello You Thinlits, snail.

Swirly Scribbles Snowman - One Hour Card Class 034 OHCC034

Who would have thought you could make a snowman using the Swirly Scribble Thinlits!  Pinterest people are amazing!

Marina Mist card.  Sign the back.

Marina Mist panel 5-1/4” x 4”.  Run through the Softly Falling embossing folder.  Set aside.

To re-color ribbon, cut white Organza ribbon 8” long.  Set the ribbon on the Real Red Ink Pad.  Set a sponge on top and pull the ribbon to recolor it. 

It continues to bleed while it is drying so don’t over do it – I pulled it through two times on each side.

Color the end you were hanging on to.  Let dry at least a half hour. 

The ribbon may not be Real Red when it dries so you may have to change the hat and Merry to Cherry Cobbler as I did.  This is a great technique because you only need one roll of white ribbon or white Twine etc. to make any of the 48 colors in SU!  Set aside.

Die cut Merry from the Expressions Thinlits or Christmas Greetings Thinlits in Cherry Cobbler 1-3/4” x 4-1/2” cardstock.  Sandwich is: Magnetic platform – cutting pad - cardstock – wax paper - die with cutting blade down – cutting pad.  Color with clear Wink of Stella.  Set aside. 

Cut Very Vanilla cardstock 5-1/4” x 3”.  The smallest circle die fits inside the large circle.  Die cut with the Swirly Scribble Thinlits.  Sandwich is: Magnetic platform – cutting pad - cardstock – wax paper - die with cutting blade down – cutting pad.

I have marked each body part with a red mark.

Place the flat red mark on the largest piece at the bottom.  The other red mark ends up on the top.  Place the red marks on the middle piece just under the last swirly scribble at the top of the bottom piece.  Oh boy!  Does that make sense?  Hopefully you can see what I am saying by looking at the picture.  I like to add a touch of Tombow glue to temporarily hold these together so work on your Silicone Craft Sheet.

Touch the red mark on the head to the top of the middle piece.  Again, add a touch of glue to temporarily hold these together.  Set aside.

Cut a strip 1-1/2” wide of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  Punch the main hat piece using the Jolly Hat Builder punch.  Run the hat through the Square Lattice embossing folder. Set aside.

Cut a scrap of vanilla cardstock ¾” wide.  Stamp using the Touches of Texture stamp set and Cherry Cobbler ink.

Punch out the band and pompom with the Jolly Hat Builder punch.

Assemble hat to the snowman. 

Add snowman to the panel about ½” from right side of panel and centered from top to the bottom using the Press ‘n Seal wrap technique to adhere the intricate die.  Lay right side of the intricate die on Press ‘n Seal wrap.  Press lightly to make the image cling.  Apply Fine Tip glue pen to the die.  Pick up the Press ‘n Seal wrap and transfer the snowman to the panel.  Press in place.  Discard Press ‘n Seal wrap. I have pictures of this technique below when applying ‘Merry’.

Place snowman on the Stampin’ Pierce Mat.  Poke a hole through the snowman and panel with the Paper Piercing Tool at his neck.  Set aside. 

Paper Fastener Bow Tutorial

Open the prongs of your silver paper fastener and set aside.  Fold ribbon in a loop around the bow maker.

Gather the ribbon in the center in your fingers. 

 Put the two prongs around the ribbon.

Close the prongs of the fastener back together and insert them through the hole in the snowman.

Open the fastener on back side of the panel and flatten.  Adhere panel to card front.

Adjust bow as you like and trim the ends.

Use Press ‘n Seal wrap technique to adhere the intricate die.  Lay right side of Merry on Press ‘n Seal wrap.  Press lightly to make the image cling.  Apply Fine Tip glue pen to the die.

Pick up the Press ‘n Seal wrap and transfer Merry to the card.  Press in place.

Discard Press ‘n Seal wrap. No mess!!

Wrap 20” Silver Cord around the card and tie into a knot.  Tie charms with the cord tails with metallic thread.  Add a glue dot behind the knot.  Tie remaining cord into a bow and trim.

Once I am done fiddling with everything, I add a little puddle of Tombow glue to the silver cord knot on my bow hoping that helps it from coming undone.

Remember the writing tablet?  Perfect for the inside of cards.  Fold a piece in half. Stamp with a phrase from the Joyful Christmas stamp set and an image if desired.  Adhere to inside of the card.
