SU044 Reindeer Napkin

My daughter had these cute napkins for last Christmas. I thought they were so cute that I snitched a few to make cards. I used the Decoupage Technique for Paper Napkins or Napkin Transfer technique.

Cardstock - Bordering Blue, White, Kraft.

 

Ink - Bordering Blue, Real Red.

 

Accessories - Large oval, scallop oval punch, bold snowflake wheel, Mod Podge, mounts, sponge, paint brush.

SU117 Gifted Glove

In 2000, we took our two youngest girls to Disneyland. Mary K Parker had arranged a stamping get together at her house. It was wonderful to put faces to people you only knew via the internet! Mary lent this stamp set to me - I still have it as I've lost contact with Mary and the rest of them since then.

Like I said in my last two posts, this is what happens when you cut the Top Note die from a piece of 51/2" x 41/4" cardstock. I have over sponged the pieces so they show up for this scan. I also followed the perforation with my craft knife to cut that frame away as well.The positive piece of the white was used on this card.  This is the last card using this die.  Card 3.

I used pigment inks on all the cards then embossed with Crystal embossing powder to add sparkle. I used dye ink for the background swirls and for sponging.

I received a card similar to this one from my sister about 3 years ago.  I believe she said she bought it at a Craft Show.  Finally had a chance to CASE it.

Stamps - Delightful Decorations, Wonderful Words 11.

Cardstock - Garden Green, Large recipe card that I cut to 33/4 x 5", Gold cut at 3/8" x 1/2".

Ink - Garden Green, edged the white in Rose Red, Versamark.

Accessories - gold EP, wire, sponge, tack to pook a hole in the top of the ornament then threaded the wire thro to the back and taped in place, mount, Burgundy Rose acrylic paint by DecoArt, toothbrush.

SU207a How to Make a Poinsettia

Here is what I did to create this little poinsetta inspired by 'mum of 2+2'. 

 

Punch two flowers with the 5-Petal Flower punch from Cherry Cobbler and one from Garden Green.

 

Draw veins in them with your stylus.  Sponge with Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green inks.  Pinch the points on the center fold line that you drew on all three flower pieces.

 

I mixed some Iridescent Medium by Winsor and Newton with a bit of water in a spray bottle and spritzed the red flowers.  I've had this stuff for years.  It says it is used for water coloring but it works great on my card crafts too.

 

Lightly sponge the flower edges in Frost White Colorbox.

 

 

Cut apart the leaves.  We only need three of these.  Glue the two flowers together as shown in the photo.

 

 

Glue the leaves in place.  Color a strip of printer paper in Daffadil Delight.  Color both sides.  When dry, punch out circles with a 1/4" hole punch.

 

 

Add a little more ink to make them wet and roll into tiny balls between your pointer and thumb.  Place a glob of glue in the center of the poinsetta and drop in the balls.  Arrange to your liking.  Place a spot of red on top of the yellow centers using your Cherry Cobbler Marker - refer to my card above.

 

I used a tutorial by Carla's Scraps called Poinsettia Punch Art Tutorial for the centers.
