MDS 013 My Dear Friend Scrapbook Page

We made a card similar to this page in our SU! Workshop last March. Thank you Joanne for the inspiration! Most everything I used on this page is on the So Much to Sale-a-Brate Digital cd. Background paper – Color – Pacific Point.
Background paper – cardstock – Baja Breeze – add as a page layer
Stamp – Torn Edges – flower edge – flip - change color - Baja Breeze.
Page before adding Photo boxes.

Embellishment - Designer Kits – Ice Cream Parlor borders – strip f.
Background paper – cardstock – Baja Breeze – add as a page layer
Punch – Scallop trim border – color fill - Baja Breeze – copy and paste to fit across the page.
Embellishment - Designer Kits – Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon. Add ribbon and a bow.
Stamp – Bliss – flourish - change color - Whisper White – Opacity (on bottom, right) to 20. I stretched it to fit my page. It looks like we used Versamark to create this.


Stamp – Bliss – butterfly - change color – Melon Mambo – resize – rotate.
Stamp – Bliss – flower - change color – Melon Mambo – resize – rotate - copy and paste to make three.


Stamp – All Holidays – friend - change color – Baja Breeze.
Punch – oval – color fill - Whisper White - mat – Melon Mambo. Change Opacity (on bottom, right) to 60. It looks like we are using a piece of vellum for our Text box.
Embellishment – Basic Pearls and Rhinestones. Add pearls to the butterflies and the flowers.
I like to Drop Shadow everything! (If you Grouped anything, you will have to Ungroup it in order for it to Shadow. Click on the item – Arrange – Ungroup). Click on one Embellishment – Drop Shadow – Opacity to 65, Blur to Medium - Save as Default – on this page. Now all my Embellishments will be Shadowed. Click on one Stamp image – Drop Shadow. Since the Opacity and Blur are set, click ‘on this page’. Now all my stamped images will be Shadowed. Repeat for one Text, one photo and one punch and click ‘on this page’. You can certainly Drop Shadow each item as you go but I tend to do it at the end.
Insert > Insert Duplicate Page Mirrored to easily make a double page spread or just bump it forward for another layout. Again, watch for a NEW Scrap Page posted next Friday.

View > Guides > Photo Page Bleed Area – you want this turned on.



Ruler – make sure Ruler is check marked under View as you want this turned on too.


Arrange – Order button to bring to front, send to back etc.


Nudge – click an item, then use your arrow keys to nudge in the direction of the arrow. Clicking on the corners of the icon will nudge the photo diagonally.


Change your margins in every album you create. File > Print set up > change all margins to 0. It will adjust automatically to the minimum size.


Photo Shape - Click on the Photo Box once (on the right). To turn your Photo from a square/rectangle to a circle/oval, click Photo Shape. After changing the photo shape, if you would like to modify the shape without affecting the photo, click Crop (instead of using the gray boxes on the sides and corners of the photo).


If your page is too big or too small for your screen, click on the – (minus) or + (plus) button in the lower, right corner (Zoom area) to reduce or enlarge your page

MDS 012 Happy Mother's Day Scrapbook Page

Background paper - Designer Series Paper – Designer Kits – Ice Cream Parlor 1.
Cardstock – Melon Mambo - Add as Page Layer.
Stamp – Torn Edges – flower edge – change color - Melon Mambo.
Stamp – Bliss – flourish - change color - Whisper White – Opacity (on bottom, right) to 20. It looks like we used Versamark to create this.
Page before adding Photo boxes.
Embellishment - Designer Kits – Ice Cream Parlor borders 3. Also choose #1, flip it.
Embellishment – Staple and Stitching – Whisper White zigzag.
Stamps – All Holidays – Mother’s Day – enlarge – change color - Whisper White.
Punch – Designer Label – enlarge – color fill – Pacific Point – mat size 6 – Daffodil Delight. Set Mother’s Day stamp on top of label.
Embellishment - Designer Kits – Ice Cream Parlor flowers – yellow one. Enlarge – copy and paste for a second flower – Mirror.
Embellishment – Grosgrain ribbon knot – Melon Mambo – rotate as needed. Use your arrow keys to nudge in place.


Once I was happy with my label, I Grouped it by holding down my shift key and clicking on each element. Arrange – Group. Now I can move it around without coming apart.
Punch – oval – color fill - Whisper White - mat - Pacific Point. Change Opacity (on bottom, right) to 60. It looks like we are using a piece of vellum for our Text box.

Background paper - Designer Series Paper – Brocade – Pretty in Pink.
Background paper - Designer Series Paper – Designer Kits – Ice Cream Parlor 4 – add as a page layer.
Embellishment - Designer Kits – Ice Cream Parlor borders 3.
Punch – wide oval – color fill - Whisper White - mat – Soft Suede.
Page before adding Photo boxes.
Stamps – Easter Blossoms – girl – resize – change color – melon mambo.
Background paper – color - Soft Suede – add as a page layer. Place this narrow strip where you want it.Punch – small photo corner – paper fill - Ice Cream Parlor 4. Place on the end of your strip. Now we will cover the little piece of Soft Suede with a square punch.
Punch – square - paper fill - Ice Cream Parlor 4. Resize to cover the remaining Soft Suede
Stamps – Easter Blossoms – Sending – change color – whisper white.
Text box - Punch – wide oval – color fill - Whisper White - mat - Soft Suede. Change Opacity (on bottom, right) to 60. It looks like we are using a piece of vellum for our Text box.
Embellishments – Basic Pearls and Rhinestones – pearl (first one) – enlarged – copy and paste to make three. Place them where you want them. Use your shift key and highlight each one – align – left.
I Drop Shadow everything – Drop Shadow – Opacity to 65, Blur to Medium – except my photo corner and square punch.

MDS 010 Happy Easter Scrapbook Page

This is a 12x12 page.
I came across a card by Cwiry on SCS and thought it would make a dandy page! Stamps – Easter Blossoms – branch – rotate – enlarge.
Stamps – Friends 24/7 – flower x 2.
Stamps – Vintage Overlays – first one – change color – rose red – opacity to 60. Just remember that you cannot move the stamps under this overlay unless you move the overlay first.

Stamps – Easter Blossoms – girl – resize – mirror.
Embellishment – grosgrain ribbon – black – rotate.
Punch – Browse – Labels and Tags - Decorative label – resize – color fill – rose red – opacity to 70.
Stamps – Easter Blossoms – Happy Easter.
Text used – Arial size 28.
I Drop Shadow everything – Drop Shadow – Opacity to 65, Blur to Medium.

SU215 Merry Christmas

This is my May card I did for Sylvia’s 2011 Christmas Card Challenge.  I chose Stars as my theme for ‘Reason for the Season’.
Stamps: Patterned Pines, Season of Joy (for the phrase).

Cardstock: Garden Green, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Transparency Film, Barely Banana.
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Garden Green, Versamark.
Accessories: Sweet Stars jumbo wheel, Classic Stars jumbo wheel, mounts, sponge, Iridescent Ice EP, Star punches by EK Success and Carl.

Total Christmas Cards for 2011:

January = 1, February = 6, March = 5, April = 5, May= 6.

MDS 009 Happiness Scrapbook Page

 Background Papers > Designer Series Paper – Stripe – More Mustard.
Background Papers > Designer Series Paper > Small Polka Dot > Chocolate Chip > click on Add as Page Layer.
Embellishment – Scallop edge – Paper Fill - Small Polka Dot. Copy and Paste to make four. Flip the two for the top.
Embellishment - Grosgrain Ribbon - Old Olive ribbon
Embellishment – Scallop edge – Paper Fill - Brocade > Old Olive 1- Mat - Not Quite Navy. Resize.

Page before adding Photo boxes.
Stamps – Great Moments – happiness – change color - Not Quite Navy.Stamps – Cheap Talk – branch - Mirror – rotate to fit the corner - change color – Old Olive.
Stamps – Big Bold Birthday – flower - change color - Not Quite Navy. Place three on your branch. Make two more in More Mustard and place on the ribbon at the bottom.
Embellishment – Basic Pearls and Rhinestones – pearl (middle one). Use your arrow keys to nudge the pearls.
Stamp - Petal Pizzazz - flower 6 - Change Color. Scatter Night of Navy and More Mustard flowers throughout your photos. Top with a pearl (first one).

MDS 008 Spring Scrapbook Page

This is an 8.5x11 portrait page.
I used a stamp for a photo frame on this page. Everything I used on this page comes with MDS. Background Papers > Designer Series Paper > Brocade > Old Olive Brocade > OK.
Background Papers > Designer Series Paper > Small Polka Dot > Chocolate Chip > click on Add as Page Layer. Double click the box that opened. Drag across the whole page, about 2” wide > OK. Move it to about 1/2” from the bottom of your page. Click off.
Background Papers > Designer Series Paper > Dotted Stripe > Not Quite Navy > click on Add as Page Layer. Double click the box that opened. Drag across the whole page, about 1” wide > OK. Drag to the top of the dots. Click off.

Background Papers > Designer Series Paper > Stripe > More Mustard > click on Add as Page Layer. Double click the box that opened. This time, drag across the whole length of the page, about 1” wide > OK. While highlighted, click on Rotate 90* Right (on the right side) – you may have to shorten the length first. Right click on the stripe > Copy > right click Paste on a blank spot of your page. Move one stripe a half inch from the top of your page and the other one to the top of the navy stripe.
Embellishment icon > Browse > Grosgrain Ribbon > Open > Drag the Old Olive ribbon on to your page, just above the Chocolate Chip Dots. Drag the Not Quite Navy ribbon just below the top More Mustard stripe.
Stamp icon > Browse > Frames with a Flourish > Open > Drag the circle stamp on to your page. Enlarge it by grabbing a corner of one of the gray handles (small boxes) around the edges with your mouse. While it is highlighted, click on Change Color (on right side) > Chocolate Chip > OK.
Stamp icon > Browse > Petal Pizzazz > Open > Drag flower 3 on to your page, click on Change Color (on right side) > Night of Navy > OK. Set it aside. Drag flower 1 on to your page, click on Change Color (on right side) > Not Quite Navy > OK. Set on the center of the large flower – use the Zoom button (bottom right) to help you better see what you are doing. Once you are happy with the layer, draw a box around it > Arrange > Group. Now they won’t come apart. Drag to the bottom, right corner of your page. Drag flower 6 on to your page. Click on Change Color (on right side) > Not Quite Navy > OK. Right click on it > Copy > right click Paste on a blank spot of your page about 3 times. Set aside.
Embellishment icon > Browse > Round Buttons > Open > Drag the More Mustard button on to your page > Browse > Button Latte > Open > Drag and center the flower button on top of the More Mustard button. Zoom in for easier seeing. Once you are happy with the layer, draw a box around it > Arrange > Group. Now they won’t come apart. Right click on it > Copy > right click Paste on a blank spot of your page for a total of 7 buttons. Set a button on each flower and 3 around the circle stamp.
Once your photos are in place, arrange your flowers. Under Arrange > Order, you can Bring to Front or Send to Back, if you want your flowers in front or behind your photos.
