Noel - LICI-D-05

Here are the 12 sheets of 6” x 6“paper (two of each design) of this beautiful double-sided Joyous Noel Specialty DSP I had received from a Paper Share I joined when the 2018 Holiday catalogue came out.  One side is designed with copper foil accents and the other side is just as breath taking!  Now that I have chopped it, I’m continuing to make more cards!

Stamps: Greetings of the Season (Holiday 2012), Christmas Pines (Holiday 2016).

Cardstock: White, Tranquil Tide, Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper, Joyous Noel Specialty DSP (Holiday 2018).

Ink: Versamark, Tranquil Tide.

Tools: dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, glue dots, sequins, Merry Merlot and Copper 5/8” Reversible Ribbon, Clear embossing powder, Copper Thread.

Punches/Dies: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Ovals Framelits, Sprig punch.

Used a strip from my Love It Chop It DSP stash.  I over stamped the card front with images from the Christmas Pines stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink before adhering the strip to the card front. 

I embossed the word Noel by first inking the image with Versamark - don’t stamp it yet. Then, ink up your image with Tranquil Tide. Now stamp the image. Cover your image with Clear Embossing Powder and tap off the excess. Heat emboss.  Create with Kaitlyn has a great tutorial on how to heat emboss in every color. 

I added some copper thread behind the phrase.

Noel Bells - LICI-D-01

I had joined a Paper Share when the 2018 Holiday catalogue came out.  Paper Shares are a great way of seeing all the paper in the catalogue plus you don’t have a huge amount of paper to touch and feel and smell and store etc for years!!  Figured I had loved it long enough, so it was time to chop it!  I had 12 sheets of 6” x 6“paper, two of each design of this beautiful double-sided Joyous Noel Specialty DSP.  One side is designed with copper foil accents, it is just stunning! The other side is absolutely stunning too but there is just something about that copper!   I ended up with 24 cards, two of each card.  So here is my first of 12 Love It Chop It cards using this DSP. 

Stamps: Greetings of the Season (Holiday 2012), Dashing Deer (inside).

Cardstock: Tranquil Tide, Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper, Joyous Noel Specialty DSP (Holiday 2018).

Ink: Versamark, Merry Merlot (inside), Tranquil Tide (inside).

Tools: dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, glue dots, Seam Binding ribbon, White embossing powder, Copper Thread, Bell trinkets.

Punches/Dies: Sprig punch.

Used a full panel from my Love It Chop It pile (5-1/4” x 4”).  Cut it again at 3-1/4”, flipped the shorter piece over and taped it back to the bigger piece.  Stamped the sentiment in VersaMark, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat embossed it. Cover the join with a ribbon.  Adhere to card front.

Added a bit of copper thread behind the ribbon.

Adhere one of the strip wastes that we cut from our Love It Chop It stash to the inside of the card.

Simple Pillow Top Technique - One Hour Card Class 022 - OHCC022

Stamps: Festival of Trees (retired) or Peaceful Pines, Greetings of the Season - for the inside (retired).  A phrase from Peaceful Pines would work for the inside too.

Ink: Pool Party, Basic Gray, Real Red, Garden Green, Versamark.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Garden Green, Pool Party, Silver Glimmer, 8” square of freezer paper.

Accessories: Snail Adhesive, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Tombow Glue, glue dots, envelope punch board, Stampin’ Trimmer, scissors, bone folder, pencil, Sponge, Dimensionals, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, silver embossing powder, Music Note Stampin’ Around standard wheel and handle (retired), silver metallic thread, Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details glitter glue, Christmas napkin, Wink of Stella.

Punches: Scallop Tag Topper, Tree Punch, Itty Bitty Accents for stars.

NOTE: ‘This Christmas’ DSP from the Annual 2016- 2017 catalogue has sheet music if you don’t have the Music Notes wheel.

Prepare card by cutting red cardstock at 4-1/4” x 8-1/2”.  Fold in half to create a top fold card – a bone folder gives you a crisp fold.  Stamp and sign the back.  Set aside.

Cut a white panel at 5-1/4” x 4” for the inside of the card.  Sponge edges in Pool Party.  Fade out 3 Christmas trees in the corner in green ink.  Stamp a phrase in red ink and adhere to the inside of the card.  Set aside. 

Stamp the little birdie on white cardstock with red ink.  Color with Wink of Stella.  Cut out and set aside.

Start with a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Pool Party card stock for the pillow-top layer.  Score diagonally at ¾” in both directions, flip the layer over so that the raised score lines are showing.  This subtle texture is what makes this the simple version of the technique.  

Wrap 15” silver trim around the panel about 1-3/4” from the bottom and tie a knot.  Set aside.

Cut White card stock at 2” by 3-3/4”.  Use the Music Note wheel with Basic Gray ink to cover.  Punch with the tag punch.  Sponge with Basic Gray ink.  Tie a knot with 5” of green ribbon through the tag.  Set aside. 

Cut green card stock at 2” by 3-3/4” and punch with the tag punch.  Adhere tags together with a peek-a-boo look.  Adhere tags to Pool Party panel.  Adhere to the card front.  Set aside. 

Stamp one tree on Garden Green card stock and another on Real Red card stock with Versamark.  Heat emboss with silver, then punch them out with the coordinating Tree Punch.  Adhere the trees together and pop up with Dimensionals.   Add to front of tags. 

Tie the silver cord into a bow.  Add a glue dot to the little birdie and adhere to the bow. 

Add tiny dabs of Silver glitter glue at each score intersection.  Give the glue about an hour dry time to avoid smearing.

Add Silver Glimmer stars for sparkle.

Using a Christmas Napkin to make an Envelope

Turn iron on a medium-high setting. 

Cut the freezer paper 8” square – napkin should be at least 10” square.

Separate the printed layer of the napkin from the others. If you miss a layer, the printed napkin will be separated from the freezer paper and won't adhere when heat is applied.

Gently press the napkin to remove fold lines.

Place freezer paper on the ironing board with the shiny side of the freezer paper facing up. 

Place the wrong side of the napkin on top of the freezer paper.

Put your iron in one place for a few seconds, lift it up, don’t slide it, and put it down again somewhere else.  Overlap your pressings.

Turn paper over and press again.

Cut excess napkin flush with the freezer paper and iron it again. 

Complete using the Envelope Punch Board.

SU240 Greetings of the Season Owl Card

This Santa Owl was based on a card I found online using the Stampin Up Owl Punch.   It is so cute and a great addition to my Christmas cards.  To make him, I punched out his feet and very little of his chest in black, aligned and glued his white vest in place on the black.  I punched out a red owl, removed the feet then glued the vest and black feet to the red owl.  I cut a triangle for his hat about ½” wide by 1” tall, topped it with a flower pompom and used the horizontal slot punch to give him fur across the bottom of his hat.  I gave him a black belt, punched a ¼” circle from gold cardstock then centered the ½” circle punch over that for his belt.  Lots of fiddly little detail, but well worth it!!
