SU199 Torn Paper Background

This technique was published in the Scrap and Stamp Arts, June 2010 magazine.  I'm sure I have seen this technique years ago but have never tried it until now.

Stamp Set - Elements of Style

Cardstock - Barely Banana, Mellow Moss, Sahara Sand,Chocolate Chip, Spring Flowers DSP (06/07 Idea Book).

Ink - Chocolate Chip

Accessories - Scallop oval punch, Wide oval punch, Mod Podge, sponge, Scallop trim border.

Begin by tearing your decorative paper into strips of varying sizes.  Swipe all four edges with your ink pad - see below.
Now tear these stips into small pieces of various sizes & shapes.  Apply ink to the uninked edges - see below.
Glue these pieces onto a scrap of paper at least 41/4" x 51/2". The pieces should overlap each other Once you have it completely covered, apply Mod Podge to the entire piece. When dry, trim to measure 5" x 33/4".

SU196a Thinking of You

I blogged this butterfly pansy card about a month ago. Decided to try a bit different layout using the same colors. The pansy certainly bled better. I was spraying two butterfly punches at a time but I found it works better to do one at a time as they do dry quickly. You would wonder how with so much water on them but they just do!

On my previous card, I mounted the phrase and bird. I didn’t use mounts on this one.

Stamp Sets: Warmest Regards, Elements of Style.

Cardstock: White, Summer Sun, Elegant Eggplant, Mellow Moss, Watercolor cardstock for the butterfly pansy.

Ink: Summer Sun, Elegant Eggplant.

Accessories: Summer Sun re-inker, Elegant Eggplant re-inker, Elegant Eggplant marker, Butterfly punch, Piercing tool, gold brad, Mellow Moss ribbon, sponges, Top Note Die, Sizzlits die Little Leaves, Square Lattice embossing folder, Modern Label punch, corner rounder, spray bottle.
