Corner Flip Card – LICI-B-04

Stamps: Flourishing Phrases, Climbing Roses (Occasions 2019, inside).

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB 2012), Pool Party, Lucky Lemonade, Poppy Parade.

Ink: Pool Party (inside and envelope), Soft Suede, Poppy Parade.

Tools: Pool Party ribbon, Everyday Enchantment brad, Silent Setter, Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, sponge, dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, glue dots, rhinestones.

Punches/Dies: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Flourish Thinlits Die, Layering Ovals dies.

Cut DSP and Very Vanilla cardstock the same size - to 4” x 5-1/4”.  Stamp the phrase in Poppy Parade ink and die cut the circle using the Stitched Shapes die (2^nd smallest) from the bottom of the Very Vanilla panel.  Die cut the phrase from the Layering Ovals dies.

From the wrong side of the DSP, pencil mark at 2” across the top from the left corner and 2-1/2” down the left side.  Sponge the edges from pencil mark to pencil mark with Soft Suede ink on the right side of the DSP.  Flip it over and sponge between the pencil marks with Soft Suede ink.  Sponge the phrase and circle with Soft Suede ink.  Apply dimensionals to the phrase and set aside.  Lightly score from the pencil marks on the WRONG side of the DSP using the score blade on your trimmer.  Press flap to the right side - a bone folder gives you a crisp fold.  Add a glue dot just at the point of the flap to hold it in place.  Sponge the fold of the flap with Soft Suede ink.

Adhere the DSP panel to the Very Vanilla panel.  Trim if necessary and sponge with Soft Suede ink.  Tape 5-1/2” of Pool Party ribbon to the back of the panel about 1-1/8” from the bottom.  Set aside – do not adhere to the card front until we add the brad!

Die cut the Flourish Thinlits. 

Adhere the large Pool Party and large Poppy Parade flower to the Very Vanilla circle – apply glue to the centers of the flowers only, keeping the petals free.  Punch a circle in the center of the Pool Party flower with the Silent Setter.

Place the circle on the front of the DSP panel to determine placement.  Draw a pencil mark through the hole of the flower.  Remove flower circle and punch a hole at the pencil mark. 

Add glue to the center of the circle only (to allow leaf placement) then adhere to the panel matching the holes. 

Cut the bottom leaves apart.

Place brad through the hole.  Adhere to a Poppy Parade card.  Tuck leaves under the circle in a pleasing manner.

Add a cluster of three flowers to the top right corner.  Add rhinestones to all the flowers.

Add phrase. 

Cut Pool Party ribbon 3-1/2”.  Tie a faux knot and glue to the card.  Trim.

Stamp phrase from stamp set in Poppy Parade ink and the flower in Pool Party ink for the inside of the card.  Stamp the same flower in Pool Party ink to the front of an envelope.

Still working on the Everyday Enchantment DSP that I have loved and now chopped.  I chopped it in 5-1/4” strips then cut the strips into 4” pieces.  Kept the leftover strips too.  I have them stored in a Full Wide Stamp case. Kylie Bertucci has given us permission to Love It Chop It!

Triple Time Stamping - One Hour Card Class 061 - OHCC061

Stamps: Flourishing Phrases.

Cardstock: Dapper Denim, White.

Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Dapper Denim, Sweet Sugarplum.

Tools: Cricut Explore Air machine, bone folder, Tombow adhesive, dimensionals, sequins, 9” Sweet Sugarplum Ruched ribbon

Lots of Triple Time stamping cards on Pinterest and I thought to myself – ‘why couldn’t I set this up on my Cricut machine’ and that is exactly what I did!

Cut white cardstock at 5-3/4” x 4-3/4” for the outside of the card.  Open Cricut Design Space.  Create three rectangles at 4″ x 5-1/4″, 4-1/4″ x 3″, 2″ x 3-1/4″ and let the Cricut cut it.  Isn’t that simple!

Stamp the sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set at the bottom of the middle panel using Dapper Denim ink.

Ink the large vine from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set in Dapper Denim ink.  Stamp off on to a scrap then stamp on the white panel - stamp your first one in the center then continue stamping off until the panel is covered with the vine.

Stamp the flower five or six times on the panel, inking the stamp each time.  Stamp the leaves a few times on the panel, inking the stamp each time.

Set the Cricut up to cut two more rectangles from Dapper Denim cardstock at 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ and 3-1/2″ x 2-1/4″.  Yes, you might as well cut four from the sheet of cardstock.

Before you glue the white frames to the card stock frames, make sure they are lined up in the direction you want. If you don’t, the flowers will not match each other! 

Adhere the largest white stamped frame to the card front.  Adhere the remaining stamped panels to the matching dapper Demin panels.  Adhere together making the flowers match.

Tape 4-1/2” ribbon around the panels just above the phrase.  Add dimensionals to the back and adhere to card front.  Add a few clear sequins.

Fold a piece of writing tablet paper in half for the inside of the card.  Stamp with images. 

Decorate an envelope.

DIY Embossing Paste - One Hour Card Class 055 - OHCC055

Stamps: Flourishing Phrases.

Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Vellum, Watercolor paper, Wild Wasabi.

Ink: Perfect Plum re-inker, Wild Wasabi.

Tools: bone folder, purchased envelope, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, glue dots, rhinestones, Pattern Party Decorative Mask, baby powder, white paint and glue to make Embossing Paste, palette knife, Swiss Dots embossing folder, Butterflies Thinlits dies, Silicone Craft Sheet, Flourish Thinlits dies.

Die cut the images.  Adhere the butterflies.

There are a lot of recipes online for Embossing Paste.  This is the one I tried and have had great results with it.  It also lasts a long time in a sealed container.

1/4 cup talc or baby powder, 1 tablespoon white acrylic paint, 1 tablespoon Aleen’s original Tacky Glue.  Add a little water as needed to make a spreadable paste.

Pick up a bit of Embossing Paste with the bottom side of your palette knife and drop it on your Silicone Craft Sheet.  Add about 4 drops of Perfect Plum re-inker and stir.

Spread it like butter over the decorative mask.  Remove the mask immediately and set in soapy water to clean up later. 

Set panel aside about 15 minutes to dry.

Stamp a phrase for the inside of the card. 

Decorate a purchased envelope with a stamped image.

More Brusho Cards - One Hour Card Class 046 OHCC046

Playing with the Brusho crystals again.  We tried 3 very different techniques for this class.  This is card 1 of 3.  Card 2 is posted on my March 13 Blog post and card 3 is on my March 16 Blog post. 

046A Embossing Paste and Brusho

Stamps: Flourishing Phrases.

Cardstock: Dapper Denim (Not Quite Navy), Powder Pink (Pink Pirouette), Berry Burst (Melon Mambo), Lemon Lime, watercolor paper.

Brusho Crystals: Prussian Blue.

Ink: Pink Pirouette, Night of Navy.

Tools: glue dot, Tombow glue, Embossing Paste, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Beautiful wings Embosslit (retired), Brusho Crystals in Prussian Blue.

Punches/Dies: Flourish Thinlits, 3/16” circle.

Apply embossing paste to 3-3/4” x 5” watercolor paper.  Let dry.  Add sprinkles of blue crystal then spritz with a fair bit of water.  Tip the panel to distribute the color. 

Immediately place a napkin over the entire panel to mop up the water. 

If you check online, you will find a lot of recipes for Embossing Paste.  This is the one I tried and have had great results with it.  It also lasts a long time in a sealed container.

Stamp a phrase from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set in Night of Navy ink and the flower in Pink Pirouette ink.   Add a butterfly die.  Adhere to inside of card. 

Decorate an envelope with the same flower image.

Folded Paper Flower - One Hour Card Class 009 - OHCC009

My good friend and stamping buddy, Lana, gifted me with these two paper flowers.  She said she has a die that does all the scoring and scallop edging for her.  I dawned on me that it has been a lot of years since I made these so I thought I would show you how to make them without a die.

There seems to be a lot of different names for this folded paper flower - paper rosette, fan fold flower, fan fold medallion, accordion paper flower, are some that I have seen.  Regardless of what it is called, it is pretty simple to make. I came across this layout on Pinterest and really liked it.  I made very slight changes to make it fit my folded paper flower. 

I cut the DSP I” x 10” and scored every ¼” from the wrong side for this flower.

I folded it like an accordion.  Once I persuaded it into a circle, I adhered a 1-3/8” circle covered in glue to the wrong side.

Flip the flower to the right side and fill the hole with glue – I do think a Hot glue gun would be quicker to use for this part.  Hold until the glue starts to set. 

Then set a heavy object on top of the rosette to weigh it down while the glue cures – I used my external hard drive and my coffee cup! 

Finished it off with a tiny die and a pearl.

The banner was cut at 1-3/4” x 4-3/4”. 

Once I die cut the flourish, I cut it apart as I wanted about another ½” spread from it.

And, of course, a matching envelope.

I decided I would make a Thank You card for Lana using one of her folded paper flowers she gave me. 

I received an exchange card from a good stamping friend that I’ve known probably for ten years but have never met, Madge.  Stampin Up! claims there is ‘no shame in copying’ so I copied Madge’s - I loved the layout of her card!

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry.

Punches/Dies: 1-3/8” circle, wide oval punch, Flourish Thinlits dies.
