Pryamid Card Tutorial

I received this card from my sister in January 2020.  It was a BIG card!  She said it had to be big cause ‘70’ is big!  Haha!  I had never made this type of card but I wanted one that would fit in a regular envelope so off to Pinterest I went to search.  Lots of great ideas out there!

This is what I came up with. This card is called a Pyramid or Teepee card.

Stamps:  Thoughtful Blooms (SAB 2020), Peaceful Moments inside and outside,
Cardstock: White, Old Olive, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Quatrefancy DSP (2013/14).
Ink: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Island Indigo.
Tools: Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, glue dots, Bling from my stash.
Punches/Dies: Stitched Shapes circle #2, Painted Labels dies, Layering Scallop circle #D, Leaf punch, small unknown leaf punch, Small Bloom punch.

Cut 3 pieces of Island Indigo cardstock at 4" square.  When it is unassembled, it will fit into a regular envelope at this size. Score and fold each square diagonally.

Cut 2 pieces of DSP at 3-3/4” square.  Cut each one diagonally.  Discard one triangle as we only need 3.

With the fold facing you, lay one square of Island Indigo vertically on your work surface (crease should be going up and down).  This is the middle piece.  Lay the next piece under and to the left of the center square with fold facing you.  Make sure the edge fits next to the fold snugly. Adhere the piece down, making sure you don't put adhesive on the areas that will be exposed on the other side!

Repeat for the right side but adhere this piece on top of the center piece.  Now fold your card together to see how it fits.

Stamp each DSP triangle piece with the leaves cluster from the Thoughtful Blooms (SAB 2020) stamp set with Old Olive ink.

Stamp flowers where they need to be on the clusters with Rich Razzleberry ink.

Adhere each DSP triangle in place on the card.

You will need to make a little slit for the outer corner to fit into. This way it can be unfolded to go into an envelope. Mark two pencil marks on either side of the overlapping panel when it was in place.

Cut a slit with a craft knife. Add your signature stamp.

Tuck the corner of the panel into the slit.

Cut a 3-1/2” square from White cardstock.  Cut on the diagonal.  Stamp a phrase on one piece and your handwritten message on the other one.  Adhere to the inside of the card.

Die cut the frame from the Painted Labels dies in Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  Adhere to the card with the right edge even with the right side of the card while the card is in the standing position.  The card won’t fold properly to fit in an envelope if you don’t do this.

Stamp phrase from the Peaceful Moments stamp set with Island Indigo ink on Pool Party cardstock.  Die cut with the Stitched shapes circle die #2.  Adhere to a white scallop Layering Shapes die #D.  Adhere to the card with the card in the standing position.

Stamp various flowers on white cardstock using the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set with Pool Party and Rich Razzleberry ink.  Punch with the Small Bloom punch (SAB 2020).

Punch 2 leaves from Old Olive cardstock with the Leaf punch.  Wrinkle the leaves.  Punch 2 leaves from Island Indigo cardstock with a punch from my stash.

Arrange leaves and flowers in a pleasing manner.  Add rhinestones to the flowers.
