Milestone Birthday – 10 years old – B10c

Cardstock: Basic Gray, White, black, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight.

Ink: black, Marina Mist, Pacific Point.

Stamp: For a Friend.

Accessories: sponge, Coluzzle, Stampin Chalk Marker, pencil, wax paper, wiggle eyes.

Punches: 5 Petal, Blossom Petals Builder, ¾” circle, ½” circle, sun by Carl.

Font: Calibi size 28 for the #10.

After making Marie’s shark punch HERE, I thought – why can’t I make the same shark head using my Coluzzle to make a bigger shark?  Not sure he really looks like a shark or whale but I hope my 10 year olds think he’s just fine!

Here is what you need to make this.  Not sure why the owl punch is listed – I think I planned to use the little circles for the eyes but changed my mind so just ignore the owl punch!

Cut one grey and one white oval about 4” tall using the Coluzzle.

Cut one black oval about 3” tall using the Coluzzle.

Punch his tail using the 5 Petal punch in grey.

Punch two fins using a petal from the Blossom Petals Builder punch.

Sponge all pieces in black ink.

Fold all ovals in half with right sides together.

Draw teeth on the edge of the black oval with a Stampin Chalk Marker or a white gel pen.  Set aside.

Kiss the top part of the white oval to the top part of the grey oval as shown.

Glue into place.  Glue the black oval to the white oval matching the fold lines as shown.

Add tail and fins.  I found this easier to do if I set my shark on the top of the card so they would fit for width and height so they would fit on the card.  Set this aside until the card front is prepared.

I stippled the card front with a ball of wax paper and Marina Mist ink.

Cut two, 2” strip of Marina Mist cardstock a bit wider than the card.

Alternate between the ½” and ¾” circle punches to make the waves.  Sponge with Pacific Point ink.

Draw a line with a pencil at 2-1/8” from the bottom of the card.  Adhere a strip of waves matching the pencil line.  Add a second row of waves under this.  Trim edges.
Draw another pencil line at 2-7/8” from the bottom of the card.  Line up the bottom of the fins with the pencil line and glue in place.

Erase pencil lines.

Another fun Shark punch art or is it a Whale punch art to make using the Coluzzle this time.
