Stable Foundation Rustic Sign

Approximate size 16” wide x 7” high, pine.  I make no attempt to hide the character of the wood when painting rather, I love letting the wood grain and knots show through to accentuate each piece!  As this and all other items in my album are handmade one by one, no two pieces will be identical. They will be as close as possible to the item shown in the photo.  It has a Sawtooth Picture Hanger on the back for easy hanging.

Buffalo Check Goes Plaid - One Hour Card Class 082 - OHCC082

Stamps: Winter Woods, Suite Seasons (2016 Holiday), Buffalo Check.

Cardstock: Shaded Spruce, Merry Merlot (Cherry Cobbler), Very Vanilla, Joyous Noel 6” x 6” Glimmer Paper in Copper (Holiday 2018).

Ink: Shaded Spruce marker, Shaded Spruce, Merry Merlot (Cherry Cobbler).

Tools: Ruler, Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, regular and mini glue dots, Merry Merlot and Copper 5/8” Reversible Ribbon (Holiday 2018), Subtle embossing folder, Silicone Craft Sheet.

Punches/Dies: Sprig Punch, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Ovals Framelits, Thinlits Die.

Jodi’s card gave me a start for my card.  I really wanted to use the new Glimmer Paper in Copper and the Reversible Ribbon (both from the Holiday 2018) on my card.

I cut a Very Vanilla panel at 5” x 4” and again at 3-1/4” x 4”.

Lightly spritz the back of the smaller Vanilla panel with water, then blot it with a paper towel. While it was still damp, run it through the Subtle embossing folder.

Used the Stamparatus to position and stamp the Buffalo Check on the bigger Vanilla panel.  Drew the lines with the marker as Jodi shows then I taped the Vanilla panels together and trimmed it to 3-3/4” x 4”.

White Winter Woods Christmas - One Hour Card Class 079 - OHCC079

Stamps: Winter Woods.

Cardstock: White, Gold Foil, Vellum Cardstock, Sparkle Glimmer Paper, Watercolor (for the snow).

Ink: Versamark.

Tools: Gold embossing powder, 1/8” Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon, Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, dimensionals, Fine Tip Glue, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, mini glue dots, sequins, Piercing Tool, Softly Falling embossing folder, Silicone Craft Sheet.

Run the snow piece through the Softly Falling embossing folder.  Apply Fine-Tip Glue or Tombow Glue to the bumps. Cover with Dazzling Diamonds.

I ran the vellum piece through the Softly Falling embossing folder as well.  I used the ribbon to hold it to the gold foil – glue shows right through the vellum so it doesn’t work.

Die cut the 2 spruce trees from white cardstock.  Colored the top spruce tree with Wink of Stella.  Adhered them together with mini dimensionals.  Added lots of sequins.

Die cut these trees from Sparkle Glimmer Paper.

Added a bow.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the phrase from the Winter Woods stamp set with Versamark ink using the Stamparatus then heat emboss with Gold embossing powder.   Ran the flap of the envelope through the Softly Falling embossing folder.

Season of Joy Wreath - One Hour Card Class 081 - OHCC081

I found this card on Pinterest.  It grabbed my fancy.  Hope you like it too.  Lovely Lipstick would have been my choice of color to use but I don’t have any just yet!

Stamps: Christmas Pines, Colorful Seasons.

Cardstock: Rose Red, White, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray.

Ink: Rose Red.

Tools: Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, ¼” Basic Gray Shimmer Ribbon (SAB 2018), dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, mini glue dots, silver sequins, Cable Knit embossing folder.

Punches/Dies: Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Flourish Thinlits, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.

Cut Smoky Slate cardstock 5” x 4”.  Lightly spritz the back of the panel with water, then blot it with a paper towel. While it was still damp, run it through the Cable Knit embossing folder. When completely dry, trim panel to 5” x 3-3/4”.

I die cut the largest circle from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits in the center of my Rose Red panel. Die cut one medium snowflake from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits using Basic Gray cardstock scraps. From white scraps, die cut the smallest snowflake from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and 3 berry stems from the Flourish Thinlits.

Stamp the phrase from the Christmas Pines stamp set on a white scrap, adhere to a scrap of Basic Gray and add dimensionals.

Adhere a bow to the wreath with mini glue dots.  Add silver sequins to the card front.

Stamp a phrase from the Christmas Pines stamp set in Rose Red ink using the Stamparatus. Stamp a few snowflakes from the Colorful Seasons stamp set using Basic Gray ink.  Adhere to the inside of the card.  Decorate an envelope with the same snowflake images from the Colorful Seasons stamp set.

Flurry of Wishes - One Hour Card Class 080 - OHCC080

We made a card similar to this one at the last Workshop my friend held.  I switched it up to work with what I had.  And yes, it uses a retired stamp set but it was what I had!

Stamps: Flurry of Wishes (2017/18).

Cardstock: Gorgeous Grape, White.

Ink: Gorgeous Grape, Versamark.

Tools: Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, glue dots, sequins, Decorative Dots embossing folder, Iridescent Ice embossing powder,

Punches/Dies: Delicate Lace Edgelits (2018/19), Blizzard Thinlits Die (Holiday 2018).

Cut White cardstock 5-1/4” x 4” for the outside of the card.  Set up the panel and phrase on the Stamparatus.  I wanted to emboss with dye inks so here is what I did: Ink the phrase using Versamark ink.  Lightly tap some Gorgeous Grape ink on top of that and stamp on the panel.  Heat emboss with Iridescent Ice EP.  Adhere to card front.  Set aside.

Cut a Gorgeous Grape panel at 5-1/4” x 3-3/4”.  Pencil mark at ½” from the left edge and 2-1/4” from the right edge.  Line the Delicate Lace Edgelit with the pencil marks and die cut.  Run through the Decorative Dots embossing folder. Trim to fit card.  Adhere to card front.

Die cut 3 different snowflakes from the Blizzard Die.  Arrange to the card front.  Add sequins.

Cut a White panel at 5-1/4” x 4” for the inside of the card.  Ink the largest snowflake from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set with Gorgeous Grape ink, stamp off then stamp on panel.  Over stamp with a phrase from the same stamp set in full strength Gorgeous Grape ink. Adhere to the inside of the card.

Decorate an envelope with snowflake images in Gorgeous Grape ink.

Buffalo Check Christmas - One Hour Card Class 076 - OHCC076

Fell in love with this card by Mary!  She has a great video on how she did it too!

Stamps: Buffalo Check, Reason for the Season (Holiday 2015), Winter Woods.

Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, Gold Glitter paper.

Ink: Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Cherry Cobbler marker.

Tools: Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, sponge dauber, dimensionals, 5/8” Striped Burlap Trim (Holiday 2018), Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, glue dots, rhinestones, Pinewood Planks embossing folder, Linen Thread, Gold Metallic Thread, Take Your Pick Tool, Mod Podge.

Punches/Dies: Pretty Pines Thinlits, Layering Squares Framelits, Sprig punch (Holiday 2018),

I don’t have the Cross-Stitched Christmas stamp set so I used what I had, which unfortunately, has retired.

Sponging the edges of both panels really adds to the rustic look!

Because I don’t have the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend, I painted 3 large pearls with Mod Podge. Once dry, I colored them with my Stampin’ Write Cherry Cobbler marker. This is not necessary to do if you are using alcohol markers such as Sharpies or SU! Blends to color your pearls but it really makes the Stampin’ Write marker colors ‘cling’ to the pearl.

I used my bow maker to make my bows.

I stamped the envelope flap with the Buffalo Check background in Mossy Meadow using Mary’s cool trick in her video.  The inside phrase is from the same retired set as the outside phrase.

Glittering Snowflake Blizzard - One Hour Card Class 078 - OHCC078

A very simple card to put together with lots of glitz!

Stamps: Winter Woods, Christmas Pines.

Cardstock: Coastal Cabana, White.

Ink: Coastal Cabana, Versamark.

Tools: Coastal Cabana Thick Baker’s Twine, Die brush, Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, mini glue dots, White embossing powder, Silicone Craft Sheet, Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet, Wink of Stella.

Punches/Dies: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Blizzard Thinlits Die (Holiday 2018).

Cut Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and Coastal Cabana cardstock at 5-1/2” x 4-1/4”.  Adhere the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the Coastal Cabana panel.
Cut a White panel at 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” and die cut with the Blizzard Thinlits Die then adhered that to the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet. I trimmed to 5-1/4” x 4” before sprinkling with Dazzling Diamonds.

I used the Stamparatus and Versamark ink to stamp the sentiment on Coastal Cabana cardstock and then embossed using white embossing powder. Die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and added dimensionals.  I also added tiny pearls to the 3 snowflakes.

I happen to have some Coastal Cabana Thick Baker’s Twine left over from when it was an In Color a few years ago so I used that to make a bow!

Stamp a phrase from the Christmas Pines stamp set in Coastal Cabana ink using the Stamparatus for the inside of the card.  Color the word ‘sparkle’ with Wink of Stella.  Used the snowflakes from the same stamp set on the envelope.

Love all the glitz!

Mini Magazine Storage Box

At this time of the year, it seems that a lot of places are looking for donations to raise money for one thing or the other.  I want to make a box with a set of cards to donate.  There are lots of wonderful boxes on Pinterest but most of them use 12 x 12 cardstock.  I have a lot more 8-1/2” x 11” cardstock so I came up with my own pattern; at least I have never seen any made from only one sheet of 8-1/2” x 11” cardstock.

First, gather the 10 cards that you are going to put in the box.  This helps you decide what color cardstock and trim you will use. I'm using the alternatives I made with the June 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit called One in a Melon.

With the 8-1/2” across the top of the Stampin’ Trimmer, score the Emerald Envy cardstock at 1-3/4” and at 6-3/4” – I have used a pen to mark the score lines, so you can see them better.

Rotate 90* (with the 11” across the top of the Stampin’ Trimmer), score at 3” and 5-3/4”.  Pencil mark at 8-1/2” or make a tick with the score blade on both 11” edges.

Line the pencil/score tick and the top score line in the cutting channel of the Stampin’ Trimmer.

Cut away.  Repeat for the other side.

Cut on the score lines at the 3” and 5-3/4” mark up to the intersection.

Miter these flaps to reduce bulk.  Repeat for the other side.

Your box should look like the above picture.

Most people cover their boxes with DSP which is totally Jim dandy.  I decided to stamp mine.  I covered the middle panel with a scrap of paper – there is no need to stamp the middle panel as it is the bottom of the box.

I chose to use the Stampin’ Around ‘See You Around’ wheel (retired long ago) with Emerald Envy ink.

Repeat the stamping for the top panel. Fold on all the score lines using a bone folder to give crisp folds.

Add your signature to the middle panel.

Flip the box over and add your signature to the center.

On the stamped side, add Tear and Tape Adhesive as shown in the above picture.

Flip it over and add Tear and Tape Adhesive as shown in the picture.

Remove the tape from the middle panel flaps only.  Fold in the top wings and adhere to the middle panel flaps.

Remove the rest of the tapeFold up the front and adhere to the sides.

A belly band adds extra stability to the box.  Cut Melon Mambo DSP 1” wide.  Tape two pieces together to make 16-1/2”. Wrap around the box, pinching at the corners, remove and use the bone folder to give crisp folds.  Adhere about 1” from bottom of the box.

Add some ribbon using glue dots if desired.

Decorate the front.

Because I am donating these, I did a little advertising and tied it to the side of my box!

10 cards and 10 envelopes fit very nicely in the Mini Magazine Storage box.
