Workshop cards - W019, W020, W021

Here are some Workshop cards we made at Joanne's place.  I didn’t mark down the ‘ingredients’ I used to make these cards.  If you are familiar with SU! products, you will probably recognize them.  If there is something you would like to know, just email me and I will find out what we used.

Thank you for stopping by.  Both Joanne and I are SU! demonstrators so if at any time you would like to purchase SU! products, give her a call or from my Blog, click on the Shop Now button.  Your order will be delivered right to you (you do have to give SU! a street address, not a box #).

Milestone Birthday – 1 year old – B01d

Thought this one turned out cute!  The card is white; I sponged the edges with Bermuda Bay.  I colored the ice cream with markers.  I searched Clip art for a #1 then mirrored it.  Another poem from the net:

You are the latest fad, you are the latest craze

It is your charm that leaves everyone in a daze

You are the one in vogue, you are the latest obsession

Even though my dear, you are only one

Happy 1st birthday.

Cardstock: Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Dusty Durango, the stripes and polka dots where from my stash, white.

Ink: Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay.

Stamp: Mouthwatering, Well Scripted.

Accessories: sponge, Soft Suede marker, Bermuda Bay marker, Dusty Durango marker, Lucky Limeade marker, mounts, Calypso Coral 1/8” ribbon, Square Lattice EF.

Milestone Birthday – 1 year old – B01c

Really liked the layout of Maria’s baby card!  Switched it up a bit and made it a First Birthday card!  The image was colored using markers and a small paint brush.  I computer generated the background and printed it in Regal Rose using CK Handprint font in size 11.  Here is another poem for baby's 1st birthday I found on the net.

Your smile is infectious

Your innocence is contagious

Your charms are magical

Every garbled word you say is special

Your actions are super cute

They lift our spirits like a parachute

You touch our lives in a special way

We wish you a very happy first birthday.

Milestone Birthday – 1 year old – B01b

I really have not taken time to do any scrapbooking since moving into our house.  We moved in before all the reno's were done so I guess that's where my time has been spent mostly!  Since I have lots of Milestone birthday cards made, I'll post them until I get back into scrapping!

Here is another 1st birthday card.  I gold embossed the candle - I think this is by Hero Arts.  The background was stamped with the party stamp by DJ Inkers or is it a stamp by PSX?  I don’t have either stamp any more so if there was a name to them, I don’t know what it is.  Here is a verse I used for the inside.

You learned to laugh, crawl, then sit and stand.

Now you can walk if we hold your hand.

But the fun has just begun.

Look out world; you are turning 1!

Cardstock: White, Pixie Pink, Barely Banana.

Punch: 1/8" hole.

Ink: Versamark, Pixie Pink.

Accessories: Gold EP, Yellow ribbon, Deckle scissors.

Stamp: Hero Arts, DJ Inkers or PSX.

SU231 Lucky Me Owl Card

My owl is ready for St Patrick’s Day this month.  I used the Decorative Label punch to make his hat, tapering it to fit his head.  Cute eh?  I also cut it in half to shadow the sentiment.  I saw this idea on Pinterest.

Stamps – Pinch Proof.

Card Stock - Black, White, Handsome Hunter, Garden Green, Green Galore, Patterns Pack 11 DSP.

Ink – Green Galore.

Accessories - sponge, Owl Builder punch, Coluzzle to cut a 2-1/2” circle, Decorative Label punch, scallop edge punch, white grosgrain ribbon.

Sewing – Child’s Tea Towel Apron with D-ring neck closure

This apron fits approximately a 7 to 9 year old child.  The tea towel measures 25” long by 16” wide.

Fold the tea towel in half.  Measure from the center fold and place a pin at 3.5” across the top.  Measure down at the side and place another pin at 10”.

Place your ruler to join these pin marks.

And cut.

Serge arm openings on the apron.  Chalk a line at ½” from edges, press under and edge stitch.  If you don’t have a serger, just press under at ¼” twice.  Set aside.

Cut two strips of fabric 3” wide by the width of the fabric – the gingham I am using is 45” wide.

Sew the strip together to make a 90” long piece.  Press in half.

Bring raw edges to middle fold line and press.

Edge stitch both long sides of the strip.

Cut 5” off one end and slide two ¾” D-rings on to the 5” strip.

Bring the cut ends of the strap together, pin and stitch close to D-rings with your zipper foot.

Stitch strip with D-Rings to top right of the apron. Stitch a strip, about 18” to 22" to top left of the apron.  Finish raw edges with a zigzag stitch.

Cut the remaining strip in half and sew to each side of the apron for ties.

To close the D-ring, slip your strip into both rings.

Bring the tail over the top of the first D-ring and under the second one.

You can adjust the strip of fabric to make the strap adjustable.
