Corner Flip Card – LICI-B-04

Stamps: Flourishing Phrases, Climbing Roses (Occasions 2019, inside).

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB 2012), Pool Party, Lucky Lemonade, Poppy Parade.

Ink: Pool Party (inside and envelope), Soft Suede, Poppy Parade.

Tools: Pool Party ribbon, Everyday Enchantment brad, Silent Setter, Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, sponge, dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, glue dots, rhinestones.

Punches/Dies: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Flourish Thinlits Die, Layering Ovals dies.

Cut DSP and Very Vanilla cardstock the same size - to 4” x 5-1/4”.  Stamp the phrase in Poppy Parade ink and die cut the circle using the Stitched Shapes die (2nd smallest) from the bottom of the Very Vanilla panel.  Die cut the phrase from the Layering Ovals dies.

From the wrong side of the DSP, pencil mark at 2” across the top from the left corner and 2-1/2” down the left side.  Sponge the edges from pencil mark to pencil mark with Soft Suede ink on the right side of the DSP.  Flip it over and sponge between the pencil marks with Soft Suede ink.  Sponge the phrase and circle with Soft Suede ink.  Apply dimensionals to the phrase and set aside.  Lightly score from the pencil marks on the WRONG side of the DSP using the score blade on your trimmer.  Press flap to the right side - a bone folder gives you a crisp fold.  Add a glue dot just at the point of the flap to hold it in place.  Sponge the fold of the flap with Soft Suede ink.

Adhere the DSP panel to the Very Vanilla panel.  Trim if necessary and sponge with Soft Suede ink.  Tape 5-1/2” of Pool Party ribbon to the back of the panel about 1-1/8” from the bottom.  Set aside – do not adhere to the card front until we add the brad!

Die cut the Flourish Thinlits.

Adhere the large Pool Party and large Poppy Parade flower to the Very Vanilla circle – apply glue to the centers of the flowers only, keeping the petals free.  Punch a circle in the center of the Pool Party flower with the Silent Setter.

Place the circle on the front of the DSP panel to determine placement.  Draw a pencil mark through the hole of the flower.  Remove flower circle and punch a hole at the pencil mark.

Add glue to the center of the circle only (to allow leaf placement) then adhere to the panel matching the holes.

Cut the bottom leaves apart.

Place brad through the hole.  Adhere to a Poppy Parade card.  Tuck leaves under the circle in a pleasing manner.

Add a cluster of three flowers to the top right corner.  Add rhinestones to all the flowers.

Add phrase.

Cut Pool Party ribbon 3-1/2”.  Tie a faux knot and glue to the card.  Trim.

Stamp phrase from stamp set in Poppy Parade ink and the flower in Pool Party ink for the inside of the card.  Stamp the same flower in Pool Party ink to the front of an envelope.

Still working on the Everyday Enchantment DSP that I have loved and now chopped.  I chopped it in 5-1/4” strips then cut the strips into 4” pieces.  Kept the leftover strips too.  I have them stored in a Full Wide Stamp case. Kylie Bertucci has given us permission to Love It Chop It!

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB 2012)

Ink: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Soft Suede.

Tools: Everyday Enchanted brad, Basic Pearls, Calypso Coral Ribbon, Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, sponge, dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, regular and mini glue dots, Tufted embossing folder, Subtle embossing folder, spritzer, Silicone Craft Sheet.

Punches/Dies: Blossom Punch, Bitty Butterfly punch, Silent Setter, Butterflies Thinlits Die.

To make the flower, punch two flowers from Pool Party cardstock.

Punch a hole in the center of each flower using the silent setter.  Sponge flower edges on both sides with Soft Suede ink.

Very lightly spritz the front and back of both flowers.  Roll into a tight ball.

Open flowers.  Some of the ink may bleed but that’s ok.  That is what gives it a vintage look.

And of course, the inside phrase and an envelope!

Diagonal Slant Card – LICI-B-001

As I said in my last post, I came across a video by Kylie Bertucci called Love It Chop It.  So worth the watch if you are a cardmaker!  This time I grabbed a package of DSP from my stash called Everyday Enchantment from SAB 2012!  I chopped it in 5-1/4” strips then cut the strips into 4” pieces.  Kept the leftover strips too.  I stored all the pieces in a SU! Full Wide Stamp Case.  I cut the cardboard backing from the package to fit in the front of the stamp case so I could remember the name of it.  I cut a sample of whatever ribbon I had that matched the kit and taped it to the cardboard.  I didn’t have the old ink pads but I had the Peach Parfait and Lucky Limeade markers, if I need them plus I had brads that matched so I tucked them in the stamp case with the chopped DSP.  This is the first card I made but I will post all the cards once I am finished using the DSP.  I was inspired by Brian’s post (tutorial at the bottom of his post). I’m hosting a Monthly Card Challenge on the Craft Addicts Facebook page.  This is the card I chose for April.

Stamps: Balloon Adventures (Occasions 2017).

Cardstock: Everyday Enchantment (SAB 2012), Peek a Boo Peach, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Gold.

Ink: Soft Suede.

Tools: Stamparatus, bone folder, purchased envelope, sponge, dimensionals, Tombow adhesive, snail adhesive, glue dots, sequins, Scattered Sequins embossing folder.

Punches/Dies: Celebrate You Dies, Balloon Pop Up dies, Balloon Bouquet punch.

Cut Peek a Boo Peach cardstock and DSP the same size (5-1/4” x 4”).

With right side of DSP facing you, pencil mark at 2-1/4” from the bottom of the left edge and 2-3/4” from the right edge.  Cut apart following the pencil marks.  You can now make 2 cards but set one aside for now.

Sponge all four sides with Soft Suede ink.  Adhere to the top of the Peek a Boo Peach panel.  Sponge edges with Soft Suede ink.

Pencil mark 2” from bottom of panel.  Run through the Sequins EF up to the pencil lines.  Set aside.

Cut Very Vanilla at 1-1/8” x 4-1/2”.  Sponge the long edges.  Adhere below the DSP.

Cut edges even.  Sponge.  Adhere to a Soft Suede card.

Die cut one balloon and the word ‘You’ in Very Vanilla; one balloon in Peach; the word ‘Celebrate’ in Soft Suede; the bow in gold.  Set aside.

Punch one balloon in Soft Suede and another in Peach.  Adhere as backing for the Vanilla and Peach die cut balloons.  Overlap the balloons adhere together with a glue dot.  Add dimensionals and adhere all die cuts to the card front.

Glue dot the bow to the base of the balloons.  Add gold sequins.

Cut a Vanilla White panel at 5-1/4” x 4” for the inside of the card.  Stamp a phrase from the Balloon Adventures stamp set (Occasions 2017) in Soft Suede ink and adhere to the inside of the card.

Decorate an envelope with balloon images.

Love It Chop It – LICI-A-001

I came across this video by Kylie Bertucci in March 2019 called Love It Chop It.  What a fabulous idea if you are a cardmaker!  So many of us stampers fall in love with Designer Series Paper (DSP), buy it, oooh and ahhh over it, smell it, stroke it a time or two, and then put it back, thinking you will save it for something special or like me, are afraid I will cut it wrong so, never use it.  Kylie tells us that it's ok to use it.  Simply Chop It!

So I grabbed a package of DSP from my stash called Love Me from 2007!  I chopped it in 5-1/4” strips then cut the strips into 4” pieces.  Kept the leftover strips too.

I cut the cardboard backing from the package to fit in the front of a stamp case so I could remember the name of it.  There were no coordinating colors mentioned on the packaging, so I just guessed.  Lucky for me, I still had the ink pads, re-inkers and cardstock that matched as all the colors from this pack are long gone!  It took no time at all to create these cards, once I got started.  I just had to CHOP the paper! Got 6 of each card for a total of 102 cards!
