Don't forget to pick me as your Demonstrator.

Stamps: Swallowtail, Bloom with Hope (retired), Gorgeous Grunge (for the inside).

Cardstock: Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry.

Ink: Versamark, Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry.

Accessories: Stamping Sponges, Heat tool, White Embossing Powder, paper towel, Tidy Tray, Embossing Buddy, bone folder, scissors, pencil, Snail Adhesive, Tombow glue, Softly Falling embossing folder, Stampin’ Trimmer.

Punch: Bow Builder, modern label.

Blackberry Bliss card base layered with a panel 5.25” x 4” from Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

Use Blackberry Bliss cardstock for the bow and punch with the Bow Builder Punch.  There are a lot of good tutorials on how to use the punch.  This is a good one HERE.  She uses glue dots but I much prefer the Tombow glue.

To create the Ink Resist Technique, cut a panel 5” x 3.75” from Whisper White cardstock.  Rub the front with the Embossing Buddy to reduce static. Stamp the Swallowtail image on the white panel using Versamark ink.

Pour white embossing powder over the stamped image over the Tidy Tray.  Heat emboss it.

Lightly sponge over the embossed Swallowtail with Rich Razzleberry ink.

Wipe the embossed image with a paper towel to remove the ink that has stuck to the embossing and that is it!

Cut a panel 5.25” x 4” from white cardstock for the inside of the card.  Decorate to suit your fancy!  Sometime envelopes are just too big so I will show you how to cut an oversized envelope down to fit the card.  Seal the envelope.  Lay your card on the envelope.

You can see that there is hardly any wiggle room.  You may have to cut about an eight of an inch off the bottom of your card if the card is too wide.  Measure 4-3/8” from one short end of the envelope.

Lay my template from OHCC001 and trace the top.

Cut out.

Use a plate to make a curve joining the pencil lines.  Cut through one thickness following curve.

Put your card inside and fold down the top.  I inked the Swallowtail in Blackberry Bliss and added to the front.

AG045 18” Doll Jean Skirt and Heart Pop Top Tutorial

Jean Skirt

Once you have made a jean skirt using the hem of the jeans as I did in AG026, you can continue making skirts as there is a lot of leg left on the jeans.  Cut 5-1/2” from bottom of leg.

Refold the leg with the top stitched seam placed on the fold.  Measure about 7” from the fold and cut – I don’t find the skirts look quite as cute if they are much wider than that.

Serge each center back seam and across the hem to clean finish.  Press hem up at ½”.

Cut ½” wide elastic at 9” long.  Place center of elastic to center of waist on the wrong side.  Zig zag across top and bottom of elastic, stretching to fit.

Serge top of waist to clean finish.

Sew center back seam.  Topstitch the hem over the elastic at center back seam.

Heart Applique Pop Top

I came across this shrug by daydreamdollboutique.  It was exactly what I was looking for!  She made hers from felt but I wanted to use fabric plus I wanted the opening at the back.  So I made some minor adjustments and came up with exactly what I wanted. I put notches at the shoulder seams as it can be difficult to figure out top and bottom! Here is my pattern:

I punched a heart from cardstock using my Stampin’ Up punch then traced it on to the fabric.

I pressed a crease down the center front for a guide for my heart placement.  Baste heart in place then zig zag around it.  I used my sewing machine to sew on the buttons.

Serge the shoulder seams together.

Cut a piece of knit 1-1/2” wide by at least 9” long.  Apply to neck opening stretching as you sew.  Trim excess.

Serge the center back seams with a couple of inches of interfacing reinforcement for Velcro placement.

Serge and press under sleeve hems about ¼”.  Topstitch.

Sew side seams.  Clip curves.

Serge across hem, press under 1/4” and topstitch.  Add Velcro.

Here is Jenna, my Maplelea doll wearing the same outfit.

Don't forget to pick me as your Demonstrator.

Stamps: Signature stamp or an address label, Hardwood, Lovely as a Tree, What I Love SAB 2016 (retired), Something to Say.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Pear Pizzaz, Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party.

Ink: Pear Pizzaz, Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party page.

Accessories: Stamping Sponges, bone folder, scissors, pencil, Snail Adhesive, Tombow glue, Stampin’ Trimmer, Crystal Effects.

Punch: Itty Bitty Accents pack, Bird builder, ¼” circle, 1/8” circle.

Prepare card by cutting Crumb Cake cardstock at 5.5” x 8.5”.  Fold in half – a bone folder gives you a crisp fold.  Stamp and sign the back.  Set aside.

Cut white cardstock 5.5” by 3”.  Use a sponge to smear a bit of Bermuda Bay ink on to the panel.  Stamp with the Hardwood stamp using Crumb Cake ink.  Set aside.

Cut a panel 5.25” x 4” from white cardstock for the inside of the card.  Without re-inking, huff on the Hardwood stamp then lay the white panel on top.  Walk your fingers gently around it.  Add flowers across the bottom.  Sponge edges in Crumb Cake ink.  Use Snail Adhesive to adhere to the inside of the card.  Set aside.

Cut a panel 3.5” x 4.75” from white cardstock.  Ink the tree in Pear Pizzaz ink and stamp off on a scrap paper.  Stamp one on the right edge of panel and without re-inking, stamp another one on the left edge of panel.  Repeat with the row of trees.  Sponge edges in Pear Pizzaz.  Set aside.

Cut Bermuda Bay at 3-3/4” x 5”.  Cut out the center.  Set aside.

Cut the Hardwood panel into 5/8” strips.  Cut one strip in half – about 2-3/4” long.  Sponge edges in Crumb Cake ink.

Adhere first long strip about ¼” from left of tree panel and the other two long strips about 1/8” from there.

Adhere one short piece about ½” from top and the second one about ¾” from bottom.  Trim all edges even with panel.  Re-sponge edges.  Adhere to the Bermuda Bay panel then to the card front.  Set aside.

Cut Pear Pizzaz cardstock 1” wide by 8” long.  Punch out 4 leaves and set aside.

Stamp 2 tiny flowers on a scrap of white cardstock and 3 tiny flowers on Pool Party cardstock using Pool Party ink.  Punch out.  Curl petals with the bone folder.  Set aside

Stamp 4 large outline flowers on a scrap of white cardstock using Bermuda Bay ink.  Use the second stamp in Pool Party ink for the centers.  Cut out two complete flowers and two smaller ones.  Curl petals with the bone folder.  Glue one large and one small flower together.   Add the two remaining small white flowers to the center of each one and set aside.

Adhere leaves and flowers to the card front in a pleasing manner.  Set aside.

Punch 2 Bermuda Bay circles at 1/8” and add to the white flowers.  Punch 3 Pear Pizzaz circles at 1/8” and add to the Pool Party flowers.  Cover with Crystal Effects.

To make Faux brads, punch three ¼” circles.  Adhere to the fence.  Cover with Crystal Effects and let dry.

Other nice color combos for the What I Love flower can be found HERE.

We made an envelope from a calendar page.
