MDS - New Year's Day 2010, Heather’s Class2

Once again, it is TUESDAY!!  You know what that means!!  DOWNLOAD DAY!!  Yippee Yahoo!

In this class, Heather reminded us to use the templates in MDS to make a quick page.  It is easy enough to import a premade template into your album.  You can always add or delete from the template.  For this page, I went through the templates to find a page that had 6 photo boxes.  Again, you can always add more photo boxes to the templates if you want but I wanted something that was done for me.  I chose a page from the A Year in Review template, changed the flowers to fireworks from Canada Day, changed the ribbon to Real Red and POOF, I had a page done in about 10 minutes!  So, yes, do remember those templates!  They make life very easy! If you want in on Heather’s tricks & tips, you still have time to sign up to her MDS Made Simple 2 class.  Because the daily posts don't happen anymore, the site remains open with the content, videos, photos, and discussions etc available until the end of October.  She has given her students permission to post our pages that we did in her class to our Blogs.  I intend to post a page every Tuesday and keep my regular Scrap pages coming on Fridays.

MDS 076, Road Trip Scrapbook Page

This is a 12x12 page.
A digital scrap page using My Digital Studio software by Stampin' Up!.
My daughter asked me to scrap her 1400 Road Trip pictures they had taken to the United States.  Disneyland was their main focus so this is the cover page I made.  I liked how Maureen Gold (bottom of this post) made her Mickey Mouse so I gave that a whirl.

Paper: Background - Christmas Jingle (real red small polka dots).

Stamp Brush Sets: Timeless (Crushed Curry).

Punches: Square made into a rectangle for the highway (Black); Square made into small rectangles for the center lines of the highway (White); stretched another square punch for the journal box (Real Red); Circle for Mickey Mouse – color filled with black – changed Opacity to 30.

Font: Road Trip – Crushed Curry – CK Frankfurt size 144; Text – White – Courier New size 16.

MDS - Sweet, Heather’s Class

Once again, it is TUESDAY!!  You know what that means!!  DOWNLOAD DAY!!  Yippee Yahoo!
In the Bonus Day 7 class, Heather showed us how to use the Torn edge stamp as I have done on this page.  In another video, she showed us how to make any embellishment into a stamp.  Once it is turned into a stamps, you can change the color!  Since I don’t have a Marina Mist button in my stash, I followed her video and now I have a button that I can change to any color!  Awesome!
Paper: Marina Mist, Beau Chateau 11 (I put this paper in a punch and clicked on the minus zoom button until I got it to the size I wanted – another of Heather’s tips).

Stamps: Vintage Overlay 4 - Soft Suede opacity 70, Torn Edges - Marina Mist, Hawaii Papaya (dots in the bottom left corner that hardly show up – Soft Suede), Vintage Vogue (flowers – Riding Hood Red), Seriously Sassy – Riding Hood Red.

Punches: Flag (Soft Suede), Square.

Embellishments: Bakers Twine, Twitterpated Ribbon (Riding Hood Red), Grosgrain Ribbon (Riding Hood Red), Stitching, Buttons – very vanilla.

Heather has given her students permission to post our pages that we made in her 1st class to our Blogs.  If you want in on Heather’s tricks & tips, you still have time to sign up to her MDS MadeSimple 2 class.  Because the daily posts don't happen anymore, the site remains open with the content, videos, photos, and discussions etc available until the end of October.
